William P. Gagnon
Partner, President
Bill is the
founder and President of The Gagnon Group and is responsible for the overall
leadership and growth of the Firm. Bill focuses on delivering big firm-quality
services to his clients through a model that allows for the reduced cost
structure and dedication to client service that one would expect from a smaller
firm.
Prior
to establishing The Gagnon Group, Bill was the partner-in-charge of the
Northeast State Tax Consulting practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). In his
15-year career in public accounting, he held numerous leadership positions in
two different Big Four firms.
While
at PwC, Bill also led the PwC domestic tax optimization practice, and served as
partner-in-charge of both the Energy and Retail industry segments of this
practice. In that capacity, he directed national tax optimization projects for
many companies, ranging from Fortune 50 to large, privately held organizations.
Bill possesses deep technical skills with a concentration in the domestic
taxation of multinational businesses.
Bill is
a CPA and has been a part-time faculty member at Boston University and the
Graduate School of Professional Accounting at Northeastern University. He is
also a member of the Advisory Board for the Bentley College Master of Science in
Taxation program. Bill earned his B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of
Massachusetts at Amherst and went on to receive his Master of Science in
Taxation from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Bill is
active in a number of charities and serves on the Board of Overseers for the
South Shore Conservatory and is a past President of the Duxbury Education
Foundation. Bill has been married for 20 years, has two sons and resides in
Duxbury, Massachusetts.
